Description:

Meissen figure of the macaroon seller from the Cris de Paris series. The first series of 34 figures was modelled by Peter Reinicke in 1753-54. This example is from the 'repaired' series of 1775 to 1778. The original Reinicke moulds were showing signs of ware so they were re-worked by Carl Schoenheit and given a new lease of life. The ' repaired' series was numbered differently to the original series.  This figure is numbered 13 while the earlier figure was number 16.
