Hugh Davies, a specialist in Meissen porcelain for over twenty years
and Dr. Hans Sonntag, head of the Museum at Meissen. The text, written
in both English and German, covers the years 1875-1925 and illustrates
over forty new models of dogs produced at a time when technical development
was encouraging innovation at the Meissen factory. The artists and assemblers are identified, new techniques of production are discussed and factory markings are illustrated. It is hoped that this book will introduce the reader to an aspect of Meissen porcelain that is still relatively unknown.
